The Bubble Wrap Boy is about a boy called Charlie whose parents run a Chinese Chippy! His mum is very over-protective making sure that she knows exactly what Charlie does and when he does it - he really dislikes this! rnCharlie is my favourite character because although he is annoyed when his mum tries to stop him skateboarding (his new found talent) he begins to understand her concern when he accidentally finds out about the 'family secret'.rnWhen his mum was younger, she and her sister had an accident on a bike and now her sister is extremely ill! Charlie goes to visit his aunt in hospital. He speaks to her and visits her often finally realising that his mum blames herself for the accident and that's why he has never been allowed to take risks.rnI would recommend this book to people who are willing to give it a chance as I found it quite hard to get into at the beginning. However, I did end up enjoying it!rn Mon 22nd Jun 2015

At the beginning of the book, i didn't really understand but after reading chapters, i got to understand what it was about. The book was a boy whose mum is over-protective, his mum opens a chinese delivery shop. this story was very sad but also interesting too because as a child you might get annoyed or angry, only because your mum is too over-protective. So this book made me understand why mum's are like that. Thu 4th Jun 2015

This is a great book because it is about a boy who becomes known for a good reason. Its about a boy who learns how to skateboard and he finds that he is a very good skater. Then his mother thinks that it is too dangerous and bans him from skating again. But then due to a long lost aunt, his mother starts to disappear, making him skate in secret, and become a skating ledgend at a skating park. rnrnThis is a very inspiring book and makes you start to belive in anything. It made me feel like nothing is impossible and you can do anything if you try. Mon 1st Jun 2015

“All my life I've been tiny Charlie from the Chinese Chippie, whose only friend is Sinus, the kid who stares at walls. But I believe that everyone's good at something. I've just got to work out what my something is...” These are the words from young boy Charlie as he begins his quest to find his way through the radar of popularity and his only way to do that is to find his hidden talent...but it doesn't turn out so well. How can Charlie get on the same track when he is the only one not hiding a secret? Can Charlie stay on the right side of the board?rnrn'This book is a very intriguing and captivating story'. The reason why I state this fact(not statement) is because it is true. Once I read half of the book, immediately, I realised that I have not dropped my book down since I picked it up. And this was just the beginning and the reason why I did not drop the book. I did not drop the book until half way because I was instantly captured into the book and the y made me become Charlie. It was as if I was not telling the story myself but it was actually happening to me. You might be wondering why I suddenly stopped at halfway. Well, my mother kept on pestering me to have lunch or she would throw it in the bin. And if anything interest me more than books, its food. But I still can't believe she threatened me my lunch. Anyways, I would recommend this book to anyone and I repeat anyone who loves stories. Anyone!!! Literally!!!But it would be highly recommended to students in year 6 or year 7. This is because my fellow author here targeted this story to them. Tue 12th May 2015
